Rick H. Jones ...Rick Jones shows us how this synthesis of arts and creative cities works...
-Richard Florida, author of The Rise of the Creative Class
My Book
Silent Rise shows how the Fitton Center for Creative Arts, through programs and leadership that encouraged people to think differently, actually impacted the economic, educational, and social fabric of Hamilton, Ohio. It also describes how much this Rust Belt city has changed after the community leaders embraced the arts. The process took close to thirty years to produce measurable outcomes in economic development and the rebuilding of the downtown as the arts gradually rose in importance in the community. It's a story about how one community's transformation was ignited through the arts.
SILENT RISE
Relive with the author twenty-five years of putting the arts in the hearts and minds of everyday people in a dying Rust Belt city . See both the challenges and conflicts overcome as well as the norms of behavior change to bring that city back from the brink of economic collapse.
